Nikko's Ballantyne location served up good food and had some preparations that were both tasty and interesting to the palate. They serve an eel appetizer that must be tried by all who visit. Atmosphere is a little more reserved than at Sushi 101 but Nikko is still making an effort to be trendy. Specials of the day were written up on a giant board that can't be seen from all locations in the restaurant. Explainations were not forthcoming from the waitstaff. Main course sushi is fresh and well prepared. There's a slightly better variety of fish on display here than at Sushi 101's Ballantyne shop. Prices are comparable to Sushi 101. I recommend giving this location a try. As with Sushi 101, don't go in expecting a traditional japanese experience. Tatami rooms don't exist here and the bar has a giant TV overtop.

Sushi it always great! Bar service is great to. Usually a wait on the weekends, so don't plan on eating too early. Keep in mind that it does get kind of loud at night.

I visited Nikkos aboutt a week ago and everything was great. the food was good and so was the service. Last time i went the service was HORRIBLE. I vowed to never eat there again. But we decided to give it one more shot. GLAD WE DID! We were greeted and seated promptly.( Within 30 seconds) I have to admit it the night was going well. The manger ( some new guy) even checked on us and he gave us a good conversation. He was a kinda scary at first. I mean the guy looked like he was mad at the world but after talking to him.He was really nice and attentive. I am glad that they went with change. The restaurant is 100 percent better and I would deffintily go back now. I reccomend that everyone go to this restaurantt , for good conversation and sushi.

OK..to be fair we have only been to Nikko's once. Food was almost totally fresh. Service was not good. But I will give it another try.
