I'm a little shocked at some of the negative reviews I’m reading. I live very close to Thai Orchid and frequent the restaurant. The owners are always there smiling when you walk in and I have never encountered rude servers. The overall "vibe" in the restaurant has always been good. One time it felt a little warm in the back room and I mentioned it and the owner promptly turned down the air. He then came by two more times to check on us. The food is exceptional as well. I eat at Thai restaurants all over the city and when I travel and they, without a doubt, have some of the best Thai dishes I have ever had. They are consistent and have been for the 2 years I have been going. If you are looking for good Thai, ignore the bad reviews and check them out for yourself. I highly doubt you'll be let down.

If you ate nothing but processed food your whole life then maybe you think few vegetables put together can be called delicious. Here's my challenge to all of you who had anything remotely nice thing to say about this place. Instead of wasting your money at this restaurant, save some cash and travel outside mecklenburg county and even perhaps out of the country. Then, maybe you'll understand what words like delicious, tasty, savoring actually mean. Thai are gracious hosts and have an indulging cuisine. Both things are absent from here. The owner of this place is laughing to the bank making fools of everyday patrons who have no idea what delicious means. If you frequent this place, take a long hard look in the mirror because it's people like you who settle for anything that as a nation we are in money mess. If you pay for something then atleast expect some quality in return!

Decent food. Pad Thai a trifle dry. Best Thom Kai Gai I have ever tasted. Great and friendly service.

I lived in California before coming to Charlotte. I was desperate to find a Thai Restaurant that equalled the ones is California. I have to say that upon finding this restaurant and meeting Nudi (one of the owner) I have been pleased with it's menu and its staff. She greets me by name everytime I come to eat there which isn't often since I live in Gastonia. The Quality is unmatched and there isn't a long wait for food even when it is busy. I recommend this to anyone looking for a fantastic Thai experience!

I ate at the Thai Orchid last night, it was as good as it was years ago when they opened, I actually followed them from Central Avenue. I've eaten Thai from New York to Miami to LA to San Francisco and it is by far my favorite restaurant. When I read the negative review on this site my first thought was "they must own a Thai restaurant and are competing for business, or they know nothing about Thai food, because this is not true" The food was perfect and the servers are always so gracious. I love this place and the people.
